PhotographerPerumal Murphy Wu Pty LtdDetailsThe heritage listed former Emmanuel Church of England is now the Galston Library. Dated 1938. Face brick walls. Terracotta tile roof, simple gabled form. Ecclesiastical gothic styling. Rose window to gable. Remaining windows are lancet type. Crucifix at rear in glass bricks.
The Dural and District Historical Society has advised that the tiled roof is believed to be original. The tiles are believed to be the same as those placed on "Sandown", a stone building on the corner of Bay Road and Charltons Creek Road, Berrilee. "Sandown" was built by the Clark family and constructed at the same time as the church. It is understood that Mr Clark and the Reverend Ron O'Brien were close friends, and the Clark's were actively involved in the construction of the church.
